Under Moody Skies
Mary Deveau

Pearl Ellis Gallery Apr 03, 2018 – Apr 21, 2018

Mary is an abstract and impressionist painter living and working in Comox. She uses acrylic paint to create textured, energized landscapes, seascapes and abstracts. Her work is loose and alive as she paints in a free and fluid style. She pulls moments from memory in order to recreate them on canvas and capture the “aura” or energy of a place.

She is influenced by her surroundings, and there is no shortage of inspiration living in the Comox valley. It is obvious that the sea and coastal shores play a large role in her expression, as well as the wide-open spaces of big sky Alberta, where she lived for most of her life.

Mary is a graduate of Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Her work is shown and sold in various galleries and festivals throughout B.C. and Alberta.

Her work will be on display at the Pearl Ellis Gallery from April 3 - 21, 2018.

Please join Mary for an opening reception, with refreshments and a free draw, on Thursday evening, April 5, from 7-9 pm.
